The History of 8b8t: From 0b0t to 6b6t and Beyond

The History of 8b8t: From 0b0t to 6b6t and Beyond

For nearly a decade, our goal has remained the same: provide a simple, stable, and enjoyable anarchy experience inspired by the early days of Minecraft anarchy servers.

The Beginning: 0b0t (December 2016)

The story begins in December 2016 with the creation of 0b0t.org by Leeewith3Es.

Earlier that year, in June 2016, the famous Camping Rusher invasion of 2b2t brought massive attention to Minecraft anarchy servers. As thousands of players discovered the genre, many alternatives began appearing, including 9b9t, Constantiam, 4b4t, and anarchy.pw.

Leeewith3Es played on many of these servers but noticed recurring issues such as downtime, instability, and lag. Rather than simply complain about those problems, he decided to create a server built around a simple idea:

Take the freedom of 2b2t and make it more accessible.

0b0t introduced features that were uncommon for anarchy servers at the time, including:

  • /home
  • /tpa
  • Dupes
  • Minimal restrictions
  • A focus on performance and accessibility

The goal was never to be a clone of 2b2t, but rather to offer a similar anarchy experience while making it easier for players to explore, build, and survive.

Over the next several years, 0b0t experienced both successes and challenges, building a dedicated community along the way.

The Birth of 6b6t (March 2019)

In March 2019, we made the decision to sell 0b0t and begin a new chapter.

This led to the creation of 6b6t.org.

While the map was reset, the philosophy remained unchanged. 6b6t was built on the same foundation that made 0b0t successful:

  • /home
  • /tpa
  • Dupes
  • Anarchy gameplay
  • Accessibility for all players

6b6t represented a fresh start while preserving the ideas that had defined our servers since 2016.

Entering the Cracked Anarchy Scene (January 2020)

By early 2020, cracked anarchy servers were rapidly growing in popularity.

Servers such as l2x9 demonstrated that there was significant demand for anarchy experiences that did not require a premium Minecraft account. Seeing this opportunity, we decided to transform 6b6t into a cracked anarchy server.

The principles remained exactly the same as they had been since 2016:

  • Maximum freedom
  • Minimal restrictions
  • Simple gameplay
  • Community-driven experiences

The only difference was that more players could now participate.

The Spanish Community Boom (May 2020)

In May 2020, everything changed.

A Spanish YouTuber joined 6b6t and introduced the server to a massive new audience.

Within a short period of time, player counts exploded, regularly reaching 150–200 players online simultaneously. Thousands of Spanish-speaking players joined, creating one of the largest growth periods in the server's history.

The influx of players changed the culture of the server and helped establish 6b6t as a major name within the cracked anarchy community.

Why Does 6b6t.org Still Exist?

In December 2020, we made the decision to sell 6b6t.org.

The sale included contractual agreements intended to protect the server, its assets, and its identity. Among those conditions were restrictions regarding ownership, distribution of server files, and future sale of the domain without authorization.

According to our position, those agreements were later violated by the purchaser, who continued operating a separate version of 6b6t.org.

That version eventually shut down, but the domain remained under the purchaser's control until December 2021, when it was sold again to another individual who continues operating the current 6b6t.org.

As a result, the present-day 6b6t.org is not operated by the original founders who created 0b0t, 6b6t, and later 8b8t.

The Creation of 8b8t (January 2022)

In January 2022, we launched 8b8t.me.

Rather than starting over, we continued the same journey that began back in December 2016.

8b8t was built upon the same core principles:

  • Freedom
  • Accessibility
  • /home
  • /tpa
  • Dupes
  • Long-term map preservation
  • Community-focused development

Most importantly, it remained under the same ownership and leadership that had guided the project since the 0b0t era.

Looking Forward

Today, 8b8t continues to operate under the vision that started nearly ten years ago.

Through the work of XERA INC., our development team continues improving:

  • Server security
  • Stability and performance
  • Quality-of-life features
  • Infrastructure reliability
  • Long-term sustainability

While the server may not reach the player counts it once achieved during its peak years, we remain proud of what we have built.

Popularity comes and goes, but commitment remains.

Every day, we continue working to provide the best anarchy experience possible for our community, staying true to the ideas that started with 0b0t in December 2016 and continue today with 8b8t.

The name may have changed over the years, but the mission has not.
